If there was no writing the world would be in chaos. Maybe we wouldn’t be able to talk, have cars, have scripts to write for plays and movies, communicate, recode science experiments there would be nothing at all. Imagine there would be no history; Nothing, we wouldn’t even be able to pass down stories from the ancient times if there was no writing. I have picked my fiction piece because when I created this piece it was difficult with all the characters and all their responsibilities, what they look like and all their traits. I have five characters and it’s difficult with all the conversation so I had to keep my eye on that so I didn’t mess up. I realize I could have put more detail in the setting. I was confused because it was never a permanent place. It was the hardest thing for me not slowing down to show the setting. Some skills I have learned during this six grade year were, for example, conversation. An example of this is me saying, “I’m scared to go on the rollercoaster”. Also another skill is the movement of the character. If he is saying something I had to show what he was doing. For example I said: “I’m scared of the rollercoaster!” while trying to tug away from my brother’s hand. Another skill was making a well made and thought out character. To make good characters, don’t tell what his traits are or his skills are show it. In writing saying for example, Jack woke up and didn’t feel like getting out of bed but he finally got up and picked up clothes from the ground and put them on. That was example showing he was clumsy and lazy. A skill that helps with the character is where the setting is. Tell the detail. For example, how the room is dirty, clean, smells bad or anything and say if it’s a charters room its perfect to show the character traits. Another skill for the storyline is to show the character’s desires at the beginning of the story and to build problems that lead to the climax of the story. Creating obstacles makes the story a lot more interesting. I think I clearly stated and showed the reader the desires of the main character from the beginning and that it was good that I had done that. In my piece I have many many problems and they get resolved but not the biggest one. I wish could have ended it sooner. I didn’t get to finish it so I wasn’t able to have a good ending or something that wraps up the story. I’m happy that I had so much support from my nice teacher Mrs. Bubalis. I improved so much from last year and also now I think I have mastered almost everything. I think I’m a better writer now from when I first started in sixth grade and it’s all thanks to my teacher.
